Trip to Broga Hill

Date : 16 May 2009 (Ticer's Day)

Everybody seems to own a Broga Hill album in Facebook recently so I want to have one myself. It sounds like Broga Hill is located somewhere out of our country but this hidden gem is actually located at Semenyih. I was there yesterday with a few of my hubby & frens and the scenery is quite breathtaking!

Superb View - beautiful grassland with backdrops of mountains ala2 The Sound of Music .

The slopes, hills and grass they all reminds me of the old series called ‘Little House on the Praire’..cantekkan :)

We reached there around 4pm, we leisurely climbed up at our pace at 4.18pm and reached the first check point at 5pm and made it to the top around 5.50pm (we stopped for quite sometime at the 1st check point due to the heavy rain)

Almost made it to the top..Sikit je lagi

At the first checkpoint, just after the rain stopped

My most favorite Broga Pic ;)

Hiking up Broga Hill is considered easy for some people as there’s not much obstacle except a few landslides and crossing a small wooden bridge but to tell the truth I was quite 'pancit' myself :P Depending on your hiking speed, it can take 40 mins to 1.5 hours to climb up and 30-45 mins coming down. It was an interesting, tiring and exciting trip but we did had a very good time at Broga especially posing and camhoring around..Hehehehe :D

Power Rangers Pose

The Spendss Divas..Kekeke..Jgn Marah :P

Thanks for dear hubby for accompany me on this trip..Love you muahsss :*

We already made plan to revisit Broga soon..but next time most probably we would go in morning time so we would have more time to hang around at the peak..anybody want to join us? ;)

Happy 4th Birthday To Our Laling Irdina

Our Laling Irdina thru the years

Our Laling Irdina celebrated her 4th birthday today. She was all vented up with excitement and counting every single days prior to approaching the date. Hari2 tanya 'Bilanye birthday Irdina nie Ibu' sampai dah tak larat nak layan :P

This morning she turned 4, I greeted her with a warm sheer kiss and a hug. She was in an unusually better spirit that morning. Bathed her and then sent her to school. I took a day off that day. She was excited to go to school since she alredy knew that we going to celebrate her birthday with her classmates during recess time. I reached her school at 9.15am with a birthday cake, some light refreshment and party packs for her class. We had a little cake blowing and party packs were distributed.I prepared Ben10 goodies for the boys & Disney Princes for the girls. Her whole class said "Thank You" and I was off with a smile on my face.Satisfied!!

Irdina already had her birthday party weekend together with her baby bother (that's what she used to call Aniq) at KFC, Extreme Park Shah Alam. I will create a specific entry for the birthday bash afterwards. The presents were heaps, food was appealing to the kids (standardlahkan food KFC), cakes were tastefully themed to my kids liking. It gave us so much pleasure to organize the party. This time is her 4th year, unknowingly it will be her 10th, then 17th rhen 21st then her wedding!!! It sounds melancholic I know, but I wonder if all mothers out there feel the same way..But one thing for sure, I am counting to the number of years ahead where she will be my companion..as for now..she is my ultimate & most loyal shopping campanion..Hehehehe :P

Happy Birthday Aniq : the Big 02!

My little boy

I can't believe that my little boy is 2 years old already. His birth is still so fresh in my mind & I can still smell his newborn smell in my memories. I had really struggled last week feeling a little bit melancholy that Aniq is almost 2. For me it feels like now he is really not a baby anymore. Him turning 1 didn’t bother me at all, but the 2 thing is not easy. I guess I’ll just have to have another one since I officially don’t have a baby anymore…hehehe..alasan ekk :D With this entry, I just wanted to take a minute and post some pictures of Aniq through out his 2 years.

I can't believe it only takes 2 short years to get from this:

First Baby year

and then this :

Still baby year

to this:

Toddler year

It's been a beautiful 2 years though and I can't wait to see what the next 2 will hold. Watching him grow, I notice that he has so much energy that he put to positive and negative ways. He is such a creative little boy that knows how to play well, keeping himself entertained with his cars, truck, diggers and trains and do lots & lots of experiments :P He also like to drive her sister crazy as his favourite past time but I know he still loves her with a great passion. If he could, he would do everything she does just to be like her & I know that he misses her a lot when ever she's not around :) He has really filled our hearts with joy and our days with laughter. That's our Aniq :)

Aniq & Na

Birthday Boy with his Big Sistaon the day itself

The moments have flown by all too fast. Milestones have been reached, changes have happened before our eyes. I can hardly believe that two years has gone by and he’s no longer a squishy newborn. I will miss the days of having a baby in my arms but I cherish the moments I have now and the thought that there is much more ahead. I can’t wait to continue to discover who this little man will become.

Celebrating the birthday at Bubba Gump, The Curve

Happy Birthday To Aniq

Me & my kids - Cannot imagine my life without them

Happy Birthday Sayang! Love you lots!..muahhhhhssss :*

Disney on Ice 2009 - Princess Wishes

A few month ago, when the ad annoucing that this year Disney On Ice it was going to be "Princess Wishes." and since our 4 years old Irdina who of course likes Princesses, my husband and I knew right away that we'd be going to this year show & booked the tickets.

Most exciting part is to play dressed up with Irdina for the show

Pose first with the crowds before the show started ;)

We arrived about 45 minutes before the show started and managed to spend some time browsing at the stores selling various overpriced Disney souvenirs and memorabilias. Still, we couldn't resist buying some of those for Irdina & Aniq as well.

Irdina favorite princes is Princess Aurora aka Sleeping Beauty

Cinderella & Her Carriage

Cinderella & Her Prince

Apart from Cinderella & Ariel, Tinkerbell is also the star of the show

For us, the first half of the show was more exciting than the the second half. Irdina squeled a lot, gave many smiles & hugs. It was special, enjoyable time although it didn't quite met our expectations for a Disney Production because almost all the princessess were presented in some sort of skating routine and it was clear that their favored Ariel & Cinderella, giving them loads of extra tme on the ice. Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle from Beauty & The Beast, Jasmine & Mulan - all whisked away too soon. Poor Pocahontas never even got to lace up her skates :P Nevertheless, we enjoyed the show and our sleeping beauty, Irdina fell asleep in the car on our way home ;)

The Happy Face :)

Yey!! We enjoyed the show

PGL Season III

Date : 15th February 2009
Venue : Istana Budaya, KL

I’m not really into theater so much but since this season will be the last season for Datin Tiara as Gusti Puteri, so we decided that this is something that we wouldn’t want to be missed. At first I was skeptical and i thought that it wasn’t gonna be entertaining but ohhh boy was I wrong...BIG TIME.

Presenting..PGL The Musical Season III

Cant resist the tempation to pose with the poster

The whole performance was just breathtaking, from the props to the casting to the songs to the lyrics and the actors were professional and versatile. The illusion effects were also awesome! Not much but you can definitely see the effort! The lyrics were incredible, and that I have to admit that Stephen Rahman’s (Hang Tuah) voice was so powerful. The music was so enjoyable (the music has some very strong pop-rock influence), the dance move at times were intricate and at times entertaining (especially the part where Sultan Mahmud did some sort like a broadway dance), Kelakar habis & everyone was laughing. The singing was flawless. They spent a lot of money in the props - it was so grand. My favorite Bayan (Ida Mariana) did a very splendid performance. I was wow-ed by her voice and her acting especially the part where she commit suicide. It's like a magical performance on stage and Bahasa Melayu has never been so beautifully spoken! Suddeny.. I felt so proud to be Malaysian..Kekekeke :P

With the director himself..Dato Zahim Al Bakri

With AC during the autograph session

The show ended with a standing ovation from the audience even from my dearest hubby ;) I would say that it was money well spent for the tickets. Thanks to my dear hubby for the treat..next season let see first who's going to be the next Gusti Puteri and then we'll decide whether we should watch again or not ;)

She was gorgeous..This will be Datin Tiara last season as Gusti Puteri..sob..sob :(

I managed to get the autograph from all the main casts of PGL except for Yalal Chin..Thumbs Up ;)

Bali Part III : Ubud Tour, Kuta, Spa & Heading Home

Here goes the last part of our Bali trip. Enjoyss ;)

Day 05 – Ubud Tour

Based on our initial program for today, by right we were supposed to watch and experience the Barong Dance at Desa Batu Bulan, visit silver factory, painting and wood carving centers and then visit the Kintamani Volcano. But since the kids were terrified of the Barong statue, considering that we not particularly interested with silver thingy and the unpredictable weather condition that mostly raining the whole day, we changed our program.

We started our tour at 10.00am today. We were planning to bring the kids swimming at the pool turn out hujan pulak. So we just hang out in the hotel until Dewa arrived at the hotel lobby. Our first destination was Sukawati Market. Here also we could find all kind of handicrafts, paintings, art works, sculptures, clothes, etc. Dewa said this is one of the cheapest place to buy souvenir and local stuff. We kinda of agree with that because if compared with Kuta or Ubud, Tanah Lot you can get the same thing cheaper here. But off course you have to bargainlah. Their initial price might be 3-5 times higher than what you would get at the end. We did bought a few stuff in addition of what we already bought for the past 4 days such as a few more paintings (cannot resists this), cravings, a Disney princess comforter for the price of RM20++ and a few more souvenirs for our frens. In Bali, everything is about arts, handicrafts, paddy fields, temples, beaches, sunrises, sunsets, beautiful scenery and religious ceremonies. Everywhere you go, you will see similar stuffs. Unless you are willing to travel to further distance or spend more money on other activities, be prepared to see the same thing again and again.

Next we headed to Ubud Town and we made a stop at Bebek Benggil restaurant, as recommended by Dewa. Dewa said that this restaurant is among the famous one in Bali and a must try. The restaurant was much more bigger than what it seems from the roadside. There were 2 main lobbies located at the front and also at the back of the restaurant. And there was quite a huge paddy field at the back so you can enjoy the view while enjoying your meal. Our dining area was just next to the main lobby. It was a small hut that could fit about 8-10 persons at a time and it was a non-chair dining area. We ordered 2 sets of Bebek Benggil Set, 2 of their signature drinks and a Spaghetti Carbonara for the kids. The taste was alright, without the bad taste of normal duck we have in Malaysia. The meat was very soft, and it was tastier to eat together with its sambal. Yummy..The price was ok as well. Reasonable I think ;)

At bebk Benggil Dirty Diner – We sat at a small hut that could fit about 8-10 persons at a time and it was a non-chair dining area

With my Bebek Benggil Set..Yummilicious

After long lunch, we continued our journey to Ubud town to visit the palace, or rather Ubud King’s residence. Nothing much inside except its huge. Art pieces, handicrafts, beds, gifts from other countries and etc. were being displayed in the open air. After that, we walked over to the nearby market @ Ubud Market to have a look at the local products, art works and handicrafts again. There was also a lot of colorful and assorted rattan weaved baskets here in Ubud Market. I'm tempted to buy one but gave it a second thought as I couldn't think of a reason to get one. We didn’t buy anything here. Considering that we bought so many things already.

Next on our way to Tampak Siring, we get to stop by at the famous rice fields terrace in Tegalalang. The view was magnificent but for me Jatiluwih view is much2 better than here. The paddy field is actually smaller than Jatiluwih but the best part in Tegalalang is that small it has a very nice café serving light snacks and drinks in their rattan hut seated on the hill terrace, allowing their patrons to enjoy the food served over the green fields plus their toilets also very clean ;) We had a couple of drinks here just basya, Aniq & me. Irdina was sleeping in the car. We had a quite and momentary serenity feeling at peace and happy to see the green fields while cam whoring around. After taking photos at Tegalalang, and almost being caught by the street sellers to buy their stuffs, we headed to Tampak Siring to see the Holy Spring Water.

Aniq Happy Face :D

Arrived at the Pura Tirta Empul (Holy Spring Water Temple) at Tampak Siring at around 5PM Entrance fee was IDR 3,000. Noticed there was a religious ceremony happening at the temple and many men & women were escorting a parade with a Barong into the temple. Due to the ceremony that was going on, we couldn’t enter the main temple are where the holy water was located. So we just watched the ceremony from outside the main temple fence. According to Dewa, there is a lies a holy spring welling up the ground that is believe that can keep people young and chase away their bad luck. Having said, that is why the local people like to come here for bathing or at least wash their face with the spring water to keep them look younger ;) Besides, seeing the nice temples and holy spring water, we also get to see beautiful crystal clear pond with fishy inside of it. Since it was drizzling & almost dawn by the time we finished touring the temple, we decided to headed back to Kuta Town and made a stop at Bali Galleria (Bali Duty Free Shopping Complex) and Planet Hollywood to buy some t-shirts. After that then only we headed back to Hotel for dinner and oh well packing!! I hate this..Sigh!! :(

Last stop for the day – Planet Hollywood Bali to buy some tees

Day 06 – Hotel, Spa, Around Kuta, Heading Home

5 days passed and time flies real fast when you're happy and enjoying what you're doing. Even though we had been here in Bali for 5 days but I guess it turned out there are still a lot more to explore in Bali. We don't exactly have a plan today but the idea was to bring the kids to the pool while Ibu experience the Balinese Spa then check out, have lunch then just walk around Kuta town for the last time before heading home.

After we had our breakfast, ayah took the kids to the swimming pool and I walked outside the hotel searching for an open Spa (btw.. It was 9.30am that time). Luckily, there was one Spa that was already opened because their operation hours started at 9am. Yippee.. Actually everywhere you turn in Bali, there’s a massage parlour. The offer starts from Rp35,000 (RM12) for an hour of traditional massage to a whopping Rp450,000 (RM150) or more for a fancy 3 to 5 hour package of mandi (scrub or bath) and ayurvedic or other style of massage of your choice. The one that I choose, was quite cheap also..A 2 hours spa package for IDR 150, 000 = RM50 (I wish I could have the 3 hours one, but due to time constraint and I didn’t want to leave the kids too long so just choose the 2 hours package) consists of 1 hour Balinese massage, 30 minutes Lulur & Body Scrub and 30 minutes of mandi bunga. Aummm..I like it ;) kekekeke :D

[/b]

Splashing Time

Yes…It was just us at the pool

Then, the treatment started. It was a private room… Nicely scented. All started with a traditional Balinese whole body massage. Oohhh… so comfortable that it made me dozed off. The long and soothing strokes, very calming. If you are the shy-type...beware... you have to strip all naked and left only with a paper underwear. Well if not then your clothing will be oily since Bali SPA is all about oil massage...the lady masseur will rub oil and massage your whole body from head to toe. As they say if you come to Bali and not experience the SPA, it means you have not reach Bali as yet ;) So it is a MUST when you go to Bali. Then, followed by the scrub & lulur. I had the choice to choose that type of scrub I wanted from coconut, green tea or their local herbs. I picked the local herbs. She explained that it was meant for detoxifying and cleansing. I felt that my skin is really cleaned after that, from neck to toes. I dozed off again..zzz. After the scrub, the lady leads me to a small Jacuzzi bathtub that can actually fit for 2 (ayah ..how I wish you were here with me right now) with a lot of kind of flowers and was advise to soak in it for 10 minutes. The water was warm & it so comfortable & soothing. After 10 minutes then quickly shampooed myself, get dressed and left the room. It was already 11.30am by then and I need to rush back to the hotel to pack and checked out from the hotel. No picture was taken during the spa, because I didn’t bring the camera along during my spa session.

Once checked out, we headed to Kuta Town to have our lunch. This time we only had McDonalds for lunch. Then we walked around a few more shops near to McDonalds then called Dewa to pick us up. With nothing much left to do for the day to kill time before we headed to Ngurah Rai airport, Dewa brought us to a place called Geneva Handicraft Centre. Located at Kerobokan area, Geneva looks more like a bombed out building from the outside than a place to rip our pocket :P However, once you climb the stairs and enter the premises, it is a fabulous place for those seeking good quality, locally produced handicrafts and I might add, at reasonable prices (Harga Pas @ Harg tetap) The staff were helpful, at least that’s what I thought as we were offered a choice of a carry basket or shopping trolley. It is a place couple of floors of every kind of handicraft available on the island including clothing and batik. It truly is a one-stop shop for any tourist visiting Bali. Everything you could buy at the Kuta, Ubud, Tanah Lot market or in fact anywhere else on the island can be found in Geneva. The aisles are spacious and everything is sectionalized for your convenience. What particularly impressed me was the vast range of products available. I must admit I enjoyed walking around Geneva perusing everything. It is good place for those who totally hates to bargain or do not have bargaining skill at all and those who like to survey the price first as benchmark before going to battle with your bargaining skill at other Bali Markets. I even thinking of buying all the ‘bekas2 hantaran’ for my brother future wedding but since it we don’t have any more space for extra luggage, we didn’t buy anything. Perhaps our next Bali trip maybe ;)

Aniq

Ibu & Aniq. We had a couple of drinks at this café..I forgot the name already to feed Aniq lunch

Our Irdina – Baru bgn tido dah kene posing for ayah :P

Next we made a stop at a shop called Rahayu to buy their famous Rahayu Super Kacang Asin. The indonesian people believe that this kacang is good for pregnant and breast feed lady to increase their milk supply for their baby. That suits me since I'm still breastfeeding Aniq ;) Then we went to a shop (forgot the name) to buy the famous Kek Lapis Bali to bring home. The price the whole cake was quite expensive almost the same price like our kek lapis Sarawak. For less than 1 kg cake the price is IDR 80, 000 = RM27 but since we were already there, so we just close our eyes and bougth a few of them.

Lastly, with no further place to go we decided to hang out at the Discovery Kartika Shopping Mall to kill time. The Discovery Shopping Mall itself is one of the largest mall in the centre of Tourist Destination in Kuta and the best of all the mall has a direct access to Kuta beach where the kids could play with the sand and we could cam-whoring for the last time in Bali before basya packed all his camera. We had a quite a good time here with the kids, and basya managed to snap quite a number of photos that I love so much. Here I enlarged a few of them as well ;)

Bali Part II : Bedugul & Denpasar, Kuta City Tour

OK..Allow me to continue with my Bali post ;)

Day 03 – Bedugul Tour

After breakfast at hotel, we continue our tour with Dewa to Bedugul area. Our first stop was the Taman Ayun Temple. We paid IDR 3,000 per adult as the entrance fee. This temple is very photogenic because of its neatly-arranged pagodas and cleanly kept garden. However the main temple was for monks only so we can just walk around the temple and take some pictures of it. Some more the fence was quite low so we could see inside of it. We finished visitin the area in about 30 minutes. Then we continued our journey to Candi Kuning Fruit & Flower Market.

This is the only time Irdina not afraid of Barong statue..sbb takde org kat dalam dia kot :P

Just after a short drive, we arrived at this not-so-famous Candi Kuning Fruit & Flower Market. Here we could see many colourful tropical fruits, fresh vegetables, flowers, spices, and local made crisps being sold to the visitors. We as Malaysian have seen many of these fruits so it wasn't surprise us very much but there was an art market selling handy craft as well here in candi kuning. We bought a few souvenirs, strawberry and grapes just for the sake of to taste them (btw both of them were so sour. I personally think our strawberry & grape in Cameron Highland taste much2 better).

They sell handy crafts & cloth as well

Another famous tourist destination less than 10 min drive from Candi Kuning Fruit & Flower Market, is the Bedugul Temple and the Beratan Lake. The entrance fee was IDR 10,000 per person and no sarung or belt was required. Among all the places we been to, I think this was probably the most comfortable place to be, mainly due to its cool temperature and nice view. We had a very good time there taking many photos for memories.Especially the kids. Unfortunately the sky turned dark and it started to rain after about 30 min we were there. If not because of the rain, we might have stay longer to relax ourselves. While waiting for the rain to stop, we had our lunch at one of the Muslim Minang restaurant just opposite the Beratan Lake entrance.

It was drizzling at this time..so need to cover Aniq’s head with my shawl

Our next stop was the Jatiluwih Rice Terrace. This place was actually not in our program. Dewa recommended us to visit this place since we had a lot of time before we proceed to Tanah Lot for sunset. Jatiluwih is one of the places of interest with marvelous natural attraction in Bali. Its cool weather being about 700 m above the sea level. There is no doubt that Jatiluwih is among the most beautiful places and can offer some of the best scenery on the entire island of Bali. The place has a particular charm even if the weather, which can change dramatically within minutes, is rainy and cloudy. The kids fall asleep in the car on our way to Jatiluwih, so we took this opportunity to pose around just Basya & me. Bila lagikan nak ada chance posing berdua ;) Basya did brief Dewa a few skill on how to snap a good photo with our camera & turned out he did pretty well. Not bad at all ;)

Opsss..Kasik chancelah kat kitaorg ekk. Jgn ada yg muntah pulak..kekekekeke :D

The breathtaking view of Jatiluwih

Our last stopped for the day was Tanah Lot. Tanah Lot isa perfect place to enjoy sunsets and there’s a temple as well. It was quite a long journey from Jatiluwih before reaching this famous attraction. We reached Tanah Lot around 5pm so we still had a lot of time to shop around before sunset. There is a massive amount of shops at Tanah Lot square selling huge variety of items such as beaded shoes, T-shirts, handicrafts, paintings, artworks, dresses, pants and etc. We even bought a few souvenirs & 3 huge abstract paintings (1m x 1m) here for the price of IDR200,000 = RM60 each for our future house. Murahkan..Mmg rambang mata nak memilih ok. They will help you to pack the paintings so you will have no trouble at all to bring them back on your flight ;)

A unique story about this place is that at the cave (bottom of the rock), there’s a holy place where they claimed it’s really holy and mysterious. When it is high tide, the sea water will roughly cover / flood the cave. However, when it is low tide, there’s a fountain that flows out plain / holy / mineral water, not sea / salty water. High tide, it’s covered with sea water. Low tide, it’s plain water. Pelikkan..Unfortunately..Not long before sunset it was drizzling at Tanah Lot..The place is also not very stroller friendly so we didn’t have much chance to explore whole place or took many photos at the nice spot. We could neither walk by the beach, nor to the temple either because of the rain & stairs as we brought the stroller along. We just walked around at the ‘save’ spots only ;) Besides nice view, there was also many mobile sellers, mainly kids and women walking around the area selling souvenirs and postcard. As for men, they involved in a more high-tech business where tourists could have their photo taken and printed out on the spot. Quite a good business strategy.

On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at one Padang Restaurant somewhere at Seminyak area to have our dinner then went straight back to the hotel.

Day 04 – Denpasar & Kuta City Tour

Today our activity is more towards shopping so mmg tak byk snap gamba ..Yippie :D We started our day by heading to Denpasar area. Based on our program, we were planning to visit Pasar Badung & Pasar Kumbasari at Denpasar. However, due to time constraint and Aniq condition who was a bit grumpy that morning, we only managed to look around Pasar Badung and bought a few stuff such Bali Sarong and ‘Kain Lace’. We found that the price of the Bali Sarong here was the cheapest we could get in Bali..starting price was already fixed (harga pas) about IDR 25, 000 = RM8 each. Other place that we went, the starting price is IDR150, 000 and the most we could bargained was only until IDR50,000 each. the lace is also cheap but I think the price of lace in Tanah Abang, Jakarta is cheaper & quality & variety are a lot better than Pasar Badung.

Another market that is also worth a visit is Pasar Kumbasari. This 4-storey traditional art-market located just next to Pasar Badung. Pasar Kumbasari is purely an art market, stocking sarongs, paintings, textiles, woodcarvings and other souvenir items. But since we were rushing to pick a fren at airport later in the afternoon and kind of exhausted after surveying around Pasar Badung, we decided to skip that tho.

Next we stopped at Kerobokkan area to buy the famous Kelambu Bali. Dewa was the one who recommended us to look around this place since this is the place where they actually handmade the kelambu and the price is more to wholesale price. The first shop we stopped, the lady offered us IDR 350, 000 for the size of the kelambu that we wanted (size 80cm x 80cm, kain grade 2) but we decided to look around the next shop available. At the 2nd shop the starting price they offered for the kelambu that we wanted was IDR 250, 000 but we had to order first & wait a few days because the kelambu was out of stock. The last shop that we stopped (near the Biggest prison in Bali) offered us IDR 150, 000 for = RM50 for a 1m-diameter kelambu (bigger than what we aimed for), which was better and could fit any size of bed. We did try to bargain the price lower but he said the price they offered was the lowest one, which was true also. Actually saje nak test our luck just in case if we could lower further the price :P He also said that a day before there was one Malaysia couple bought 15 kelambu from them with the same size like ours. So I guess, we made the right decision ;)

The Kelambu Bali that we aimed for looks something like this

Before we went back to the hotel to have a short rest while Basya & Dewa would go to the airport to pick up Faez & Family, we stopped at one Minang Restaurant at Seminyak area to pack our lunch. However, as we reached the hotel..I received a text from Faez saying that they couldn’t make it to Bali due some problem with the F&*%$!& Air*** procedures. I wish not to tell the whole story here in my entry because I didnt want Faez to be sad reading this entry but believe me they were totally unprofessional and had no respect on our rights as their client. Faez….Mmg akak geram sgt dgn Air*** tau!!. We had planned this trip together for the past 6 months and there are so many things had planned together there in Bali. Turned out jadik mcm nie pulak. D&@% Air***!! B%&#$ betul!! If this thing happened to us, mmg lama dah hantar saman kat Air***. Kesian Faez :(

After resting for a while, we continue our tour with Dewa at about 3pm without Faez & Family along L. We made our first stopped for the evening at Kuta Beach. Once we reached Kuta Beach, we found it full of surfers and sunbathers. Beach peddlers were everywhere. The peddlers will pester you to get your hair tied up or draw a tattoo, and they won’t give up even after trying to persuade you for 10 minutes. We face this situation no matter where we are in Bali, especially those tourists attraction spots. They are literally everywhere to bug us. One piece of advice; if you’re not planning on buying any of these items, try to as far away from the peddlers as you can. It’s pretty tough coz they usually come up to you and ask you whether you’re interested in their items. Some peddlers can be very pushy, so it’s best to stand your ground and just say no. Walk away if you have to. If you do find the items to your liking, always negotiate at least half or 70% of the asking price. Bali is a tourist place, so prices on souvenir items are jacked up all the way.

There is a quite number of shops as well at Kuta Beach selling huge variety of items such as beaded shoes, T-shirts, handicrafts, paintings, artworks, dresses, pants and etc just like Tanah Lot. Since we already now what the price we to expect based on our bargaining experience at Tanah Lot, we managed to buy a few more abstract paintings for the same price we got at Tanah Lot and a few small paintings as souvenirs. Yeap..More paintings ;)

At one of the painting shop that we bought another painting at Kuta Beach

After that we continued to walk along the Kuta Beach enjoying the view until we reached the Hard Rock Café. We made a stop at Hard Rock Hotel because a few of my friend did request us to buy a few Hard Rock Tees for them. We did bought a few for us as well, took a few pics then called Dewa to pick us up in front Hard Rock. Then we made a stopped at Matahari shopping Mall also in Kuta Square just to look around and kill time. This time we bought quite a number of good qualities Bali T-shirt as souvenirs for our families. The one that sold at the small2 shop mostly cost around IDR10, 000 = RM3++ each (basya did bought one, but baru pakai skali dah tetas2 dah), but the quality is not as good as the one sold in Matahari. The design & printing are better also.

View outside Hard Rock Café. Most crowded spot of Kuta Beach

Then we just walked to a few more shop at Kuta Square area buying a few souvenirs for families and ourselves. Like I said before, there are many well-known brand outlets, fast food restaurant, clubs, and hotels along the way the Kuta & Legian Area. We can easily find Polo, Polo Ralph Lauren, Rip Curl, Levis, D&G, Versus etc shop lots everywhere in this area. I personally think that brand like Polo, Polo Ralph Lauren their stuff are authentic however for the shop that sell mixed item (D&G, Versus, Paul Smith etc), I doubted that they are genuine. Once we finished exploring around the shops around Kuta Square, we decided to pack our dinner and headed back to our hotel.

A typical DVD shop in Kuta looks like the one that sells orginal DVD in Malaysia :P

That was our 3rd & 4th Day in Bali ; ). Will continue further in Part III
